Afternoon tea was the order of the day for Anglemog’s celebrations to commemorate 75 years of the MSCC.
Forty- five members and 19 Morgans descended on Little Channels in Essex to celebrate three quarters of a century of MSCC. A sumptuous afternoon tea was enjoyed by guests who were joined by Melvyn of Melvyn Rutter Ltd the Essex-based garage which is celebrating its own anniversary this year – 50 years as a family-run Morgan dealership. Melvyn was given the onerous task of judging the 19 gleaming Morgans in order to award two prizes for pride of ownership. John Goodman , who has been a member of Anglemog since January 1979 took first prize for his Plus 4, with the other accolade going to fellow long-term member Leigh Sebba for his racing Plus 8. An additional prize, donated by Michael Francis of MaJ Clean and Detail, was awarded to Geoff Tipler for the ‘car you would most like to take home’ chosen by one of the members of staff at the venue! They fell in love with his metallic green Roadster but in the end it was Geoff who took it home!
Master of Ceremonies for the afternoon was Tony Donnelly who regaled members with stories from Anglemog’s 57-year history.
A lovely afternoon was enjoyed by everyone present and huge thanks must go to Jan Alderman, Anglemog’s Events Coordinator for organising the event.
John Goodman has written an article regarding his days on the National Committee which can be downloaded below.
