Peter Tatlow is arranging something a little different, make a date in your diary!

Where?

Zero 2 Bus Museum. Poole Farm, Poole Street, Great Yeldham, CO9 4HP. Essex.

When?

Thursday 13th. August 2026.

Why?

A slightly different and interesting day out!

A brief introduction to the Zero 2 Bus Museum.

The collection started in 1979, at that time as part of Ensign Bus Co. Ltd. based in Purfleet. Ensign Bus Co. was sold to First Bus in 2023 but the growing number of 'classic' buses & coaches was not. As a result, the current museum was established at its new home in Great Yeldham.

Currently housing around 60 buses & coaches, most of which are fully restored, but with restoration projects underway aswell, there is also a wide range of destination blinds, bus tickets as well as the various types of ticketing machines used over the years & over 10,000 bus models! The oldest bus on display is a 1932 double decker delivered to Jersey, the newest a 1988 double decker that was new to Ensign Bus Co.

Many of the exhibits have featured in films, TV shows & adverts; buses & coaches can be hired with appropriately attired 'crew'!

There is also a section of the museum which illustrates the history of Great Yeldham itself.

I have arranged for an 'exclusive' Anglemog Group visit & tour of the Museum, so there will be no members of the public there on the day. There is ample parking & toilets on site.

It is 'dog friendly'; dogs must be kept on leads.

So, the program:

Arrive at 11.00am; (the Museum actually opens at 10.00 so you could arrive a little earlier); there will be tea & coffee available to purchase on arrival.

Entrance is £10.00 each, payable on the day by card or cash. No deposit required.

You are free to walk around at your leisure, or have a guided tour. I am advised 2 to 3 hours is enough time to see everything.

There is a' Bendy Burger Bus' serving sandwiches, hot & cold drinks, & yes, burgers, (a more detailed menu will be available nearer the time) with limited seating indoors if the weather isn't too good, & also outside picnic tables. You can take your own picinic if preferred.

For further details of the Museum, I suggest you check out the website;www.zero2busmuseum.com

Whilst there is no deposit required, I would like an idea of numbers by 30th. June, please indicate if you will be enjoying the refreshments from the Bendy Burger Bus, or if you are bringing a picnic.

Any queries, please let me know.
