Starting at 2.00 pm there is a forty minute guided tractor tour of the farm with afternoon tea. Maybe also visit the Tiptree Jam Museum.
Wilkin & Sons, (otherwise known to most of us as Tiptree Jam), who have been farming at Tiptree since 1757, is now known worldwide as a leading manufacturer of the finest preserves. Whilst factory tours are not allowed, for one day a week during a limited period in the summer, guided tractor & trailer tours of the fruit farm itself are possible, seeing traditional as well as cutting edge new technologies in fruit farming.
Our proposed tour starts at 2.00pm on Wednesday 9th. July & will take around 45 minutes, & will be followed by a Tiptree Cream Tea, (or coffee) in the 'Tiptree Secret Garden' under a marquee.
They ask that passengers dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day. There are steps to get on & off the trailer!
Prior to the tour you may wish to have lunch in the Tiptree Tea Rooms, the revised typical menu here;
