Rosemarie Nelson is organising a visit to the Combined Military Services Museum in Maldon on Wednesday 11th June followed by lunch at a nearby pub.
The museum is “small but perfectly formed” and has a fascinating display of items relating to all aspects of military activities - Special Forces, Spies, the English Civil War, the WW2 Home Front, uniforms and even a Cockleshell Heroes canoe. The plan is to meet at the museum at 10.30 a.m. and then go to the Hurdlemakers’ Arms pub for lunch at 1.30 p.m. We are restricted to between 25 and 30 people for lunch because it’s not huge. We will be required to pre-order and menus for the lunch will be sent out in the next few weeks.
